It has been awhile since I have written. Been working out health and family issues. The planet Mars, the ruler of energy, action, has been in the sign of Leo. Leo is a fire sign that rules the Sun and has quite a bit of energy on its own. In my chart, I have 4 planets in Leo and with Mars being in Leo, I have had a lot of personal issues to deal with myself. I personally go within when dealing with very personal issues. If I am not upbeat, it is difficult to share with others.
Mars will be in the sign until May. Usually Mars stays within a sign for about 6 weeks. Not this time, however. Mars will be going retrograde (appearing to go backwards) and staying in the sign Leo for awhile. Put on your best shoes, as the energy will be busy and intense. If you have not been sleeping very well lately, this incredible energy could be a culprit. It can also increase partying and living as if there is no tomorrow. At this time of year, where stress is at a high, Leo’s energy can be more uplifting (like the Sun) or can be exhausting. If you party too much, watch your money and your communication skills, as spending and talking too much can cause problems.
Another factor joining the party this holiday season, is the planet Mercury. I talked about Mercury Retrograde a few months back and it is happening again the day before Christmas. It might be a good time to start a meditation practice, if you are not meditating already. Going within and quieting the nerves would help in the stress department. Mercury Retrograde is also a very good time to go within and see how your inner life is working. Being so involved in shopping or entertaining or helping others sometimes leaves us low on personal time. Even 15-20 minutes a day can help your inner life making your outer world easier to deal with and a little more calm.
Until we talk again, be well and enjoy some quiet time.

Sorry haven’t kept up! Been a little behind myself this Rx. Now that it is over, it would interesting to see what others experienced during this time. Myself, I have been working on a new process called The Presence Process by Michael Brown. If you get a chance check him out on You tube -http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=336D6AB139B725E5.
He talks about using the breath and working through one’s issues. I find this one of the best tools I have discovered in many years. So for me in the Rx, I began rediscovering myself and looking at my own issues. It gave me the chance to slow down and work with my breathing. I have always had a difficult time with breathing from my years of severe emotional and physical abuse. So now at 57, I am learning to breathe. He is a very interesting person. His website is http://www.thepresenceportal.com/. He has a journal you can download and other talks.I mentioned how the Rx helps to slow down and re- look at things. This Rx, I started working with my breath and slowing it down and seeing what issues come up. He gives you practical ways in doing so, a tool for self discovery.
Astrology is also a tool to work on yourself. I feel if you take the time and learn some basics, you can work with astrology and use it for your own insight. I believe in using astrology as a tool for self understanding and for helping to understand the world around you on a day by day basis. I learned following an astrological calendar and seeing how it related to myself everyday and also helped me to understand others. For instance, Saturday was a full moon in Aries. Aries is a fiesty sign, ruled by the planet Mars, which is action. The full moon intensifies whatever is happening emotionally. I had to grocery shop on a Saturday, which I usually do not do. Well, I was run over or bumped into at least a half dozen times. People were impatient and in a hurry. I discovered people driving more erratic than usually. My own patience was running thin. This is one aspect of a full moon in Aries. Full moon in Aries can also be a creative time- and getting alot of things done. As tired as I was, I managed to get many things done, and quite quickly. That is also Aries energy. It is also a fun time too. I am sure there were alot of partying also going on as I saw many carts filled with an unusual amount of fine wine and beer. As you see, there is always more than one way to work with the energy of the day. If you have a your own chart and a calendar, you can see what energy patterns affect you and how you can work with them. My forte is the ability to teach others how to look at their own chart and apply it to what is happening in your day. All we have is this moment- so to project into the future or for me to tell you what is going to happen, would be providing you with a disservice. Astrology can be a very enlightening experience and one that can help you learn so much about yourself.
Well I think I have rambled enough for today. The moon is still in Aries, and I love that energy.
Until next time, take time to enjoy your life. Now is all you have . Sheri

I was wondering how this Mercury Rx is affecting other people. I am an avid SF Giant Baseball fan. Every time Mercury Rx comes about, they seem to have a problem getting their bats going. I feel like they are a very emotional team and are affected by astrological changes. Anyways, that is what I observed over the years following them. Also right now, the planet of Mars, (energy) is in Cancer. Cancer is an emotional sign. It rules the Moon and we know how the Moon is constantly changing. So when the planet of energy is in an emotional sign, energy becomes emotional. Emotions seems to be riding higher than usual- with Mercury Rx and Mars in Cancer, I feel like it is a very emotional time. I see it in with people in stores or driving on the road. And here the Giants have a chance for the playoffs and they can’t seem to get it going. Very disappointing for many SF Giants fans, even though they have exceeded all the pundits predictions.
I would welcome anyone’s input on how this time is affecting them.
Until another day, hope life treats you well. Enjoy

What is up? The planet Mercury, ruler of communication, in all forms, is going Retrograde. What that means is that Mercury appears to be going backwards. It actually is Retrograde on September 7th, but you start feeling the effects 3 days before the actual date. Communication can be difficult. Someone says something, and you take it the wrong way. Your letter gets lost in the mail, your car acts up, your computer goes weird, the planes are late, your luggage gets lost, etc. But in reality it is a time for people to slow down, take a breather, look at your inner life more closely. I use to panic in these times, and now I work with them. I take extra time going somewhere, I am more careful driving; I make sure to clean my computer and see that things are running properly. It is a time to turn inward, watch your thoughts and think of what is important. Sometimes the car breaks down, so you can be at home with your family. Or the computer goes down, and you have to read more. There is nothing bad or devastating in Astrology. It is here as a tool to help us understand ourselves better and to understand others. At this time, take a little more time to think before speaking and if you don’t understand what someone is saying, ask them. I am not saying that at times during this 3 week period, you won’t be frustrated. I am just saying see what develops and use this time to watch your thoughts and really look inside to what is important to you.
It is interesting that I am starting my first blog during this period. I will work at writing clearly so you can understand. My forte is working with Astrology in a practical manner. I hope that what I share gives some insight into your life and helps to make your day a little brighter. So until next time, be kind to yourself and enjoy! Sheri
